Being diagnosed with breast cancer is a drastic experience for every woman affected, with far-reaching consequences for herself and her social environment.

The clarification of unclear or even suspicious findings in the breast includes a clinical examination of the breast. After the clinical examination, unclear findings are clarified in the radiology department using mammography and breast ultrasound, and in selected cases a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the breast is performed.

If a malignant finding cannot be ruled out in this way, a tissue sample is taken. The result of the tissue sample and the next steps will be discussed with the woman concerned in a timely manner.

The fact that all disciplines are united under one roof at the Claraspital Breast Centre proves to be a great advantage for patients: They are looked after by an interdisciplinary team of experts and supported at every stage of their treatment. The treatment plan is customised for each patient and they are extensively involved in the decision-making process.

In addition to expert medical care, the Claraspital Breast Centre offers women with breast cancer and their relatives specialist advice to clarify any uncertainties, reduce anxiety and provide patients with suitable support services: The Breast Care Nurse accompanies the patient through every phase of the disease.
