The Claraspital has a clear medical position and offers many opportunities for doctors. Teaching also has a traditionally high priority at the Claraspital: as a certified training centre, we train junior doctors in surgery, internal medicine, gastroenterology, oncology, pneumology, urology, radiology and nuclear medicine every year.

Claraspital training centre

The Claraspital is a university teaching and research hospital of the University of Basel. This institutionalises and recognises our commitment in this area.

The Claraspital is a training centre certified by the Swiss Institute for Continuing Medical Education. The Swiss Institute for Continuing Medical Education (SIWF) is the centre of excellence for continuing medical education and training in Switzerland for the medical profession, authorities and educational institutions.

The oncology department at the Claraspital is certified as a category A training centre, which means that you can complete the four-year training course at the Claraspital until you graduate with the specialist title "FMH Medical" oncology.
