Uro­gy­ne­co­lo­gi­cal tre­at­ment of uri­n­ary blad­der dys­func­tion / pro­lap­se pro­ble­ms / in­con­ti­nence

Uro­lo­gyna­e­co­lo­gy deals with uri­n­ary blad­der dys­func­tion and pro­lap­se pro­ble­ms in wo­men and treats the ef­fects of pel­vic floor pro­lap­se on the fe­ma­le ge­ni­tal or­gans and the blad­der.

Cour­se of tre­at­ment

The following investigations are offered during the consultation and are helpful in making a diagnosis:

  • Gynaecological examination
  • Urine laboratory tests
  • Ultrasound of the pelvic floor
  • Cystoscopy/cystoscopy
  • Urodynamic measurements: Pressure measurements in the bladder and urethra.

The consultation is also supervised by a urotherapist. The urotherapist provides advice on various aids, for example, and supports the urogynaecologist with conservative therapies.

  • Drinking and micturition diary
  • Pessaries: stress incontinence, prolapse conditions
  • Pelvic floor physiotherapy with biofeedback and electrostimulation (specialised physiotherapists at the Claraspital)
  • Instruction in the use of catheters
  • Bladder instillations

  • Insertion of a bladder tape for stress incontinence
  • Prolapse operations from the vagina (vaginal) or by laparoscopy, without/with mesh
